DragonFire Studio & Gallery will blow away the grays of winter with the exhilarating colors of Spring Unveiling in Cannon Beach May 5th, 6th, and 7th. Feast your eyes on the latest works of four of our contemporary artists: Miska, Sherry Casper, George Abboud, and Michael Orwick .
Miska has been a featured artist at DragonFire for two years. She creates colorful and expressive paintings moving from the gold, bronze, copper, and pearl tones influences of her Russian heritage to the colorful tropical colors of the rainforest. Her symbolism travels through her body of work US Art magazine chose her as one of 25 prominent artists to watch emerge in 2001. Her winter inspirations will color our Spring.
George Abboud is known best to DragonFire artists for his mixed media abstracts and collage work. He expresses his very personal viewpoint of life in vibrant colors, humorous juxtapositions, and joyous compositions. From Blues musicians to buildings dancing to the rhythm of the city, George will bring you the unexpected.
Michael Orwick answered the challenges of growing up in Astoria as a dyslexic student by creating pictures that make the written word understandable. He has won acclaim as a Children’s Book Illustrator and a Fantasy Artist. His oils will combine these talents with the mystical quality of light found in the Oregon landscape.
Sherry Casper defies categorization. She lays down bold strokes of strong colors and deep texture in one piece only to shift moods into translucent layers of soft, delicate hues. She captures the “emotional hit” or dramatic excitement of her subject. Working in acrylics, oils, and pastels she strectches her focus from coastal landscapes to lyrical birds, to elegant nudes or African tribesmen, or stunning nudes.
